Highveld (Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Free State)

The biggest threats here are summer hailstorms, intense UV radiation, and afternoon thunderstorms with high winds. Key needs:

• Heavy-duty truck and container covers that resist wind uplift
• Hail-resistant covers for outdoor vehicles and equipment
• UV-stabilised materials — Highveld UV index regularly exceeds 10

Western Cape

Winter rainfall and south-easterly gales define the Western Cape threat profile. Covers must handle sustained wind rather than sudden gusts, and must deal with prolonged wet periods rather than intense short storms.

• Waterproof rather than water-resistant materials
• Mould-resistant PVC for long wet storage periods

KwaZulu-Natal
